What's the difference between full-frame and insert windows?
An insert window drops into your existing frame, which is faster and cheaper and works great when the frame is solid. Full-frame means we take everything back to the rough opening so we can flash it properly, which is the right call when there's rot or the old frame is shot. Anybody quoting you without looking at the frame is guessing.
Will new windows really cut my energy bill?
Some, and less than the commercials claim. Energy efficient windows help most when you're replacing single pane or badly failed units. Air sealing and attic insulation usually save more per dollar. We'd rather tell you that now than have you mad at us in January.
Can you just repair my window instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. Window repair, window frame repair, window rot repair, and window screen repair are all real options. Foggy glass between panes means the seal failed, and on many units we can replace just the glass unit instead of the whole window. We'll tell you which camp yours is in.
Do you have to be inside my house?
Yes, and only for the openings we're working on. One room at a time, floors covered, boots covered or off. Every opening gets closed the same day it's opened. If you'd rather be home for all of it, we'll schedule it that way.
How long does a whole-house window job take?
Most homes run one to three days once the windows arrive. The wait is usually the order, not the install, and custom sizes take longer. You'll get the schedule up front and a text at every stage.
Do you do doors too, or just windows?
Doors too, all of them. Entry doors, front doors, storm doors, patio doors, sliding glass doors, screen doors, and garage door replacement. A new front door is the biggest visual change you can make to a house for the smallest number, which is why we bring it up even when nobody asked.
