Branson Garage Door Replacement for the Biggest Blank Wall You Own
It's a Third of the Front of Your House and Nobody Picked It.
Big Chief Exteriors handles Branson garage door replacement and garage door pergolas. If you've spent money on paint, shutters, and a front door and the house still looks plain, this is almost certainly why.
Products and Credentials Behind the Work
Stand at the Mailbox and Look at Your House for a Second
Really do it sometime. On most homes built in the last forty years, the garage door takes up somewhere around a third of everything you can see from the street. It's bigger than your front door, bigger than any window, bigger than the shutters and the porch light and the flower beds put together. And on almost every one of those houses, nobody ever chose it. The builder put on a flat white steel door because it was the cheapest thing on the truck, and twenty years later it's still there, a little faded, with a dent along the bottom section from a basketball or a bike.
That's the strange part. Folks will spend real money on landscaping and a new front door and fresh paint, and then the largest surface on the house stays exactly as it was, quietly flattening everything else. Meanwhile the door still goes up and down, so replacing it never makes the list. If it works, why touch it. That's a completely reasonable question and it's why most people never look into Branson garage door replacement until a spring breaks or a panel caves in, at which point they're making a rushed decision instead of a good one.

These guys were amazing! I own several homes and rarely do I see service of this caliber. The bid was very honest and reasonable. We decided to move forward and within a few days there were at our house working from dawn until dusk. The job site was always clean and the men were always very respectful and kind. It’s companies and men like this that made America great. You should look no further than Big Chief Exteriors.

I'm Tyler. There's a Cheap Version of This and I'd Rather You Hear It First.
I'm Tyler Arnold. Before we talk about a new door, let me tell you what a garage door pergola is, because most folks around here haven't heard the term and it's the best money in this whole category. It's a wood or composite structure with corbels and a beam that mounts on the wall above your garage door, like a little arbor. It breaks up that big flat expanse, throws a shadow line across it, and makes the front of a plain house look designed. Paired with painting your existing door and swapping in some decorative hardware, you can get most of the visual change for a fraction of a full replacement. We'd rather build you a pergola for a small number than sell you a door you didn't need.
When a new door is genuinely the right call, two things matter beyond looks. Insulation, which is worth real money if your garage is attached, has a room above it, or you use it as a shop, and is close to pointless on a detached unheated garage you park in. And safety, which is the part nobody thinks about. The springs on a garage door hold an enormous amount of stored energy, enough to badly hurt somebody, so that's work for people with the right tools and training and never a Saturday project. If yours is making a bang when it opens or the cables look frayed, stop using it and get somebody out.

Three Promises on the Biggest Thing on Your Front
The Fix It or Refund It Guarantee
If the door binds, the panels don't line up, or something fails because of how we installed it, we're back out to fix it fast. No prorating. No trip charges. Nobody blaming the opener. And if we can't make it right, you get your money back. Every single cent. Same on a pergola as on a full door, which is the whole reason to write a guarantee down instead of describing one.
The $250 Price Match Guarantee
Bring us a written bid from another licensed and insured company for the same door line, the same insulation rating, the same window and hardware package, and the same warranty. We'll match it and hand you $250 in cash for finding a competitor we hadn't heard about. Check the insulation rating on both bids, since two doors that look identical from the driveway can be very different behind the skin.
The Cleanup Guarantee
Old garage doors come out in heavy sections with a lot of hardware and fasteners, and it all lands where you park and where kids ride bikes. Our crews are paid on cleanup. The old door leaves on our trailer, we magnet the driveway and the apron, and we sweep the garage floor and the drive before we pull out.

What Neighbors Say About Their Branson Garage Door Replacement
What We Do in This Category
One is the whole door. The other is the trick most people don't know about.
Garage Door Replacement
Removing the old door and installing a new one, in the style and insulation level that suits how you actually use the space. Traditional raised panel, flush modern, and carriage house styles that look like they swing out but roll up like anything else. Window sections change the look more than any other single choice, and they're what makes a plain door read as intentional. We'll match colors and hardware to your entry door and trim so the front of the house holds together.
Garage Door Pergolas
A wood or composite arbor structure mounted above your garage door, with corbels and a beam that project out from the wall. It adds depth and shadow to the flattest part of your house, which is exactly what a big blank door is missing. Pergolas cost a fraction of a new door, install in a day, and pair well with painting your existing door and adding decorative hardware. On the right house it's the highest return per dollar of anything we build.

“Very open and honest. Encouraged me to get other bids as well. They were not only the best-priced but also the most organized and open about our plans and options to take. The workers were clean and quick and did everything they could to protect the property. Tyler even came out himself to magnet the driveway so we wouldn’t drive over nails each night bc I have an EV that charges in the garage. Excellent experience! Big Chief definitely goes above and beyond.”

Counties Where We Work on Garages
We work out of 117 Calvin Drive in Branson and cover a wide stretch of the Ozarks. What makes sense depends on how the garage is built and how you use it.
Taney County
Learn MoreBranson, Hollister, Forsyth, Rockaway Beach, Kirbyville, and Merriam Woods. Taney County garage door replacement near Table Rock and Lake Taneycomo often comes down to curb appeal on rentals and second homes, since the garage dominates a listing photo. Humidity is hard on wood doors here, so composite and insulated steel usually make more sense than solid wood.
Stone County
Learn MoreKimberling City, Reeds Spring, Branson West, Galena, Crane, and Blue Eye. Stone County garage door replacement on exposed ridge lots has to account for wind, since a large door is a large sail. Reinforcement and bracing matter more up here than in a sheltered subdivision, and it's worth asking any bidder about.
Barry County
Learn MoreCassville, Monett, Purdy, Shell Knob, Exeter, and Wheaton. Our Barry County garage door replacement work leans toward shops and outbuildings with big openings, where insulation genuinely pays off if you work out there in January. Wider and taller openings for equipment are common, and those need the right track and spring setup.
Christian County
Learn MoreNixa, Ozark, Sparta, Clever, and Highlandville. Christian County garage door replacement is our busiest area, because those 1990s and 2000s subdivisions all got the same flat white door at the same time. A carriage style door with windows, or a pergola above the existing one, is the fastest way to make a house on a repetitive street stop blending in. Check your HOA first and we'll help with the packet.
Lawrence County
Learn MoreAurora, Mt. Vernon, Marionville, Pierce City, and Verona. Lawrence County garage door replacement out this direction often follows hail, since a garage door is a big flat steel target and dents show badly on it. We'll document damage with dated photos if you're filing, and tell you honestly whether the dents are cosmetic or whether panels are compromised.

Garage Door Questions People Ask Us
How much does a garage door replacement cost?
It ranges widely. A basic uninsulated steel door on a single opening is the low end. An insulated carriage style door with windows on a double opening is several times that. Size, insulation, windows, and hardware move the number most. We measure the opening, look at how the garage is built, and put the options in writing with the monthly payment beside each.
Do I need a new opener when I get a new door?
Not always. A working opener that's properly sized for the new door's weight can usually stay. Where it comes up is when the new door is a good deal heavier than the old one, meaning going from a thin uninsulated door to a heavy insulated one, or when the existing unit is old enough that parts are scarce. We'll tell you which situation you're in rather than adding it automatically.
Is an insulated garage door worth it?
Depends entirely on the garage. If it's attached to the house, has a bedroom or bonus room above it, or you spend time working out there, insulation makes a real difference in comfort and in what your HVAC fights. If it's a detached unheated garage where you park and close the door, you'd be paying for something you won't notice. We'd rather ask how you use the space than sell the upgrade by default.
Steel, wood, or composite?
Steel is the most common, costs the least, holds up well, and dents. Composite and faux wood give you the look of real wood without the maintenance, and they handle our humidity far better. Real wood doors are beautiful and heavy and need regular finishing, and around here they're best under a deep overhang. For most homes we're recommending insulated steel or composite.
What exactly is a garage door pergola?
A decorative arbor mounted on the wall above the door, made of wood or composite, with brackets called corbels supporting a beam and often some cross members. It doesn't touch the door or affect how it operates. What it does is add depth and a shadow line to a flat wall, which is what makes the front of a house look considered instead of blank. It's a one day job.
Can I just paint my existing garage door instead?
Often yes, and we'll tell you when that's the smarter spend. A sound door that's simply faded takes paint well with the right prep and product. Add decorative hardware and a pergola above it, and a lot of people find they've gotten the change they wanted for a small fraction of a new door. If the panels are dented, sagging, or delaminating, paint won't fix that.
How long does the install take?
Most single door replacements are a day. Doubles and jobs where the track, springs, and opener all get addressed run a bit longer. A pergola is typically a day on its own. You'll have a start date in writing and a text the morning of with who's coming.
Do you handle springs, cables, and opener repairs?
Our focus is replacement doors and the decorative work around them rather than ongoing service calls. If you've got a broken spring, a snapped cable, or an opener acting up, tell us when you call and we'll point you to the right people if it isn't something we're taking on. Springs in particular hold serious stored energy and are not a DIY job under any circumstances.
