  • How do I know it's time to replace instead of paint or repair?

    The clearest sign is paint that won't hold anymore, especially if the last job peeled within a few years. Add swelling or crumbling at the bottom edges, panels that have come loose, soft spots when you press on them, or moisture showing up inside on an exterior wall. One damaged section is a repair. A wall doing several of those things at once is telling you something.

  • How much does siding replacement cost?

    It moves with square footage, how many stories, how much trim and detail work there is, and the material. Vinyl is the most affordable, LP and James Hardie cost more and last longer. What changes the number most after that is how much bad sheathing turns up. You get three written options with the monthly payment printed next to each total.

  • How long does it take, and do I need to be home?

    Most homes run three to six days once material is on site. Bigger houses, steep lots, and heavy trim work take longer. You don't need to be home, and you don't need to move out.   • How do I pick a color I won't hate in five years?

    Get big samples on your actual wall and live with them for a few days, in morning light and evening light. Look at your roof color and any stone or brick, since those aren't changing. Take a photo from the street rather than judging from three feet away. And take a slow drive through your own neighborhood, because a color that's striking in a catalog can look loud in a row of houses.

  • Can you match my existing siding if I only replace part of the house?

    Sometimes, and we'll be straight about the odds. Manufacturers discontinue colors and profiles, and even an exact match won't line up with siding that's had ten years of Ozarks sun on it. Where the match matters, we'll often pull panels from a hidden elevation to patch the visible one and put the new material where nobody looks.

  • What happens if you find rot behind my siding?

    We photograph it, send you the picture, and charge the per-sheet price that's already printed on your quote. Nothing gets renegotiated while your wall is open to the weather. Finding a few soft sheets on a thirty year old house is completely normal and not a sign that something has gone wrong.

  • Should I replace my windows at the same time?

    If they're within a few years of needing it, yes. Doing windows after new siding means cutting into it, and new pieces won't blend with a wall that's begun to weather. Doing both together also means the flashing and trim between the two get integrated once rather than patched later. If your windows have real life left, skip it.

  • Does new siding actually help resale?

    It's one of the better returns in home improvement, mostly because it's the first thing anybody sees and it signals the house has been cared for. What we'd caution against is picking a bold color specifically to sell. Buyers are conservative about exteriors. Neutral tends to travel better if a move is anywhere in your plans.
