How much does it cost to replace a sliding glass door?
Replacing a sliding glass door in Branson averages $2,500 to $5,000 installed for most doors. Custom sizes and features can vary widely with the options you choose.
Size, frame material, glass and options such as built-in blinds move the price within that range. Marvin Ultimate custom doors are priced after we see what you want.
These are averages, so your fixed price comes after a free estimate. Projects of any size are welcome, with several payment options: monthly payments, or do the project now and pay later.
Sliding or French patio door?
Choose a sliding door if you want to save floor and deck space, since it glides open instead of swinging. Choose a French patio door if you want a wider opening and the classic look of two swinging doors.
We install both. Our sliding doors are Marvin, and we also install French patio doors. A French door needs room to swing, so we look at your deck, furniture and the way you use the door before you decide.
At your Free Estimate we show you samples and talk through payment options.
Why is my sliding door so hard to open?
A sliding door that sticks or drags usually has a dirty or worn track, worn rollers, or a frame that has shifted over the years.
Cleaning the track and lubricating it helps with dirt. If the rollers are worn, the track is bent, or the door has dropped out of square, it keeps sticking, and replacement is usually the lasting fix. A fogged glass unit or a lock that no longer lines up are other signs it is time.
At your Free Estimate we look at the door and the frame around it and tell you honestly whether it needs replacing.
Are patio doors with blinds between the glass worth it?
They can be, if you want blinds without cords, dust or cleaning. The blinds sit sealed between the panes, so there is nothing to catch on or wipe down.
Built-in blinds cost more than a standard door, and they are part of the door, so the choice is made when the door is ordered. If you rarely close the blinds or already have a covering you like, a standard door may be the better value.
We offer built-in blinds, and we show you the option and the price difference at your Free Estimate.
