How much does new siding cost?
New siding in Branson averages $6 to $15 per square foot installed, depending on material. Vinyl siding averages $6 to $8, insulated vinyl and LP SmartSide engineered wood siding both average $8 to $12, and James Hardie fiber cement siding averages $9 to $15.
The material moves the number most, but the size and shape of your walls, the number of gables and corners, and any hidden repair to the sheathing matter too. Details such as thicker foam, stone accents, shutters and board and batten siding on a gable change the total.
These are averages, so your fixed price comes after a free estimate, with several payment options. House wrap, flashing at every window and door, and new soffit and fascia are part of the job, not extras.
Vinyl or Hardie for a Missouri home?
Choose vinyl siding if you want the least upkeep and the lower price. Choose James Hardie fiber cement siding if you want a heavier, more traditional look and a finish you can paint in almost any color. LP SmartSide engineered wood averages $8 to $12.
Vinyl averages $6 to $8 and never needs painting. Our insulated ProVia CedarMax vinyl, at $8 to $12, adds foam behind the panel for a quieter, tighter wall. Hardie board, which comes as Hardie plank lap siding, is dense fiber cement that holds up to Ozarks hail and big temperature swings, and it gives a crisp look that vinyl does not.
LP SmartSide is engineered wood lap siding with a traditional wood look. Like Hardie, it is available as primed lap siding painted on site in any color, or as factory-finished ExpertFinish color backed by LP's 50-year substrate warranty and 15-year finish warranty.
We install James Hardie lap siding primed and painted on site in any color, and the Statement Collection with a factory-finished ColorPlus coating and a 15-year finish warranty. At your Free Estimate we show you samples and the payment options for your project.
How long does Hardie siding last?
James Hardie lap siding is backed by a 30-year, non-prorated limited substrate warranty, and well-installed fiber cement is built to last for decades. The finish usually wears out before the board does.
A painted finish needs repainting over the years, and caulk at the trim needs checking. That is why we also install factory-finished ColorPlus, which carries a 15-year limited finish warranty. Installation matters as much as the board, so we put the siding over taped house wrap and flash every window and door.
Our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty covers our workmanship for as long as you own your home.
Can new siding go over old siding?
It can be done, but we do not recommend it, and we do not do it. Every Big Chief siding job starts with removing the old siding.
New siding over old hides what is underneath: damaged sheathing, failed flashing and trapped moisture. Taking the old siding off lets us repair the sheathing, install house wrap with taped seams, put flashing tape at every window and door, and replace the soffit, fascia and trim so they match the new wall.
We photograph every hidden layer before it is covered and keep the photos in your Home Passport.
