How much does a synthetic cedar shake roof cost?
Synthetic cedar shake roofing in Branson averages $12 to $20 per square foot installed, depending on the size and complexity of your roof.
For example, a 2,000-square-foot roof works out to roughly $24,000 to $40,000 at those averages. Your roof's size and pitch, the number of valleys, dormers and chimneys, and the condition of the decking move the price. Your fixed price comes after a free estimate, and you have several payment options, including monthly payments.
Full tear-off, deck inspection, ice-and-water membrane, edge metal, ventilation and cleanup are in the price. Shingle roofs average $4 to $6 per square foot and metal $8 to $15 if you want to compare.
Synthetic or real cedar shake: which should I choose?
Choose synthetic if you want the rustic cedar shake look with a Class 4 impact rating and a 50-year transferable limited warranty. Choose real cedar if natural wood matters most to you.
The synthetic shake we install is Brava Cedar Shake, a polymer shake with the texture and look of cedar. It is one of the two Brava designer roofing lines we install.
Real cedar is natural wood, so it needs more upkeep over the years. We will talk through both at your Free Estimate, and we will tell you honestly which fits your home and budget.
Does synthetic shake fade over time?
Color can change over the years on any roof that sits in the sun, and we do not promise it won't. Ask to see the written warranty terms before you decide.
Brava Cedar Shake carries a 50-year transferable limited warranty. Limited warranties have terms, so we give you the written warranty and walk you through exactly what it covers before you sign.
A color session with samples helps you choose a shade that suits your home and your light. Our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty covers our workmanship for as long as you own your home.
Can you replace my existing cedar shake roof with it?
Yes. Cedar shake roof replacement with synthetic shake is something we do, and it starts with a full tear-off of the old roof.
Older cedar roofs are sometimes installed over spaced boards instead of solid decking. If yours is, we point it out at your Free Estimate and the new decking is part of your fixed price.
We inspect the deck at tear-off. Rotted sheets are replaced at a posted per-sheet price before the new roof goes on, and the photos go in your Home Passport.
