Do gutter guards really work?
Good ones do. Quality gutter guards, also called leaf guards or gutter covers, keep leaves and debris out of the gutter so water keeps flowing, and they cut down on climbing a ladder to clean.
No guard is perfect. Very fine debris can still collect on top of any gutter cover, and the cheap plastic or foam kinds can clog or sag. That is why we install E-Z-Leaf Eliminator stainless steel gutter guards on our 6-inch K-style seamless gutters.
Guards cannot fix gutters that are too small or pitched wrong, so we get the gutter right first and add the guards on top.
How much do gutter guards cost?
E-Z-Leaf Eliminator stainless steel gutter guards in Branson are priced at $10 to $12 per linear foot installed. The K-style seamless gutters they go on are also $10 to $12 per linear foot.
For example, guards on 150 feet of gutter work out to roughly $1,500 to $1,800 at that range. Your total depends on how many linear feet of roofline you have, how many corners and downspouts the house needs, and the condition of your fascia.
Those are averages, so your fixed price comes after a free estimate, where we write a detailed fixed price for your full scope of work, with several payment options including monthly payments.
Will they handle oak leaves and pine needles?
Stainless steel gutter guards are built to keep leaves out, and oak leaves are exactly what they are meant for. Pine needles and other very fine debris are harder for any guard, and we tell you that honestly.
Needles, oak tassels and shingle grit can still settle on top of a gutter cover. A quick rinse or brush now and then keeps water flowing, and a yearly gutter tune-up is available as an add-on.
If your home sits under heavy pine, tell us at your Free Estimate and we will look at your gutters and your trees together before you decide.
Do they keep up with heavy Ozarks downpours?
The guards work together with the gutter under them. Our gutters are 6-inch K-style seamless with oversized 3x4 downspouts, sized for heavy Ozarks rain, so the water has somewhere to go.
A guard cannot make an undersized gutter handle more water, and a downspout that is too small is still a bottleneck. That is why every Big Chief gutter system starts with 6-inch gutters and downspouts with twice the opening of standard ones.
We do not promise that no gutter will ever overflow in an extreme storm. We promise to size the system for your roof and tell you honestly what it needs.
How do your guards compare to LeafFilter?
We cannot speak to another company's product, so we will not compare brand to brand. We can tell you exactly what ours are: E-Z-Leaf Eliminator stainless steel guards on 6-inch K-style seamless gutters.
When you compare any two quotes, ask what the guard is made of, what size the gutter and downspouts are, what the price covers, and what the written warranty says. Get all of it in writing.
After your Free Estimate we write a detailed fixed price for your full scope of work, with several payment options including monthly payments, so you can put it next to any other estimate.
Will I ever need to clean my gutters again?
Much less often, but we do not promise never. Guards keep out most leaves, and fine debris can still build up on top of any gutter cover over time.
A quick check after the leaves fall and a rinse when needed keeps things flowing, and you stay off the ladder far more than you would with open gutters. A yearly gutter tune-up is available as an add-on if you would rather we do it.
Our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty covers our workmanship for as long as you own your home.
